Canon Reuben’s Diamond Jubilee

Canon Reuben Butler was ordained a priest on 17th June 1956. For the last sixty years he has served in the diocese of Killaloe at St. Flannan’s College, Ennis, and here in Newmarket on Fergus. This commitment and service is well worth celebrating and so we are planning a Mass of Thanksgiving in Newmarket Church on Saturday June 25th at 7.30pm. Refreshments will be served in the community hall after Mass. We would like this to be a real parish

Special collection for the hosting of the 9th World Meeting of Families in Dublin

Pope Francis has chosen Ireland to host the 9th World Meeting of Families from August 22nd – 26th 2018 with the theme “The Gospel of the Family: Joy for the World” This is expected to attract thousands of Catholic families from around the globe to Ireland. It is hoped that this very special pastoral initiative will present us in the Church with the opportunity, and the challenge, to renew, support and strengthen Irish families in their commitment to their faith.
